Asher's First Trip to California

Asher and I made an eleven day trip down to Thousand Oaks to
meet Asher's Gigi (Kate's grandmother) and then to Santa Barbara to visit Oma and Opa. He also got to meet his Uncle Greg and his girlfriend Cece. Luke joined us the last four days. Suffice to say, everyone was thrilled to see him.

As you can see, he's sitting up very well on his own too. This meant lots of opportunities for pictures to be taken by all.




We spent most of the time at Gigi's just hanging out, giving Asher and Gigi both a chance to get to know one another. We also went to Gigi's church so that he could be shown off by his very proud great grandmother. As you can see, they got along very well.



We also took a trip to a park just down the road from Gigi's house that Kate & Greg used to play in when they were kids. It was fun to be with him in the same playground and to take a picture of him in the same tree that Kate used to climb in.









Then it was off to Santa Barbara for the weekend. Boy, were Oma & Opa happy to see Asher! I wish we had a picture of Oma with Asher, but Opa wouldn't give him up enough for that to happen! She did play the constant photographer, so we have lots of great pictures.





And that just about winds up our trip to California. It wasn't enough time for the grandparents and great-grandma, as you can imagine. No one wanted to say goodbye.

While we were there, Asher was rolling over like a champ, impressing everyone with his non stop smiles and talking.

We can't wait to visit again soon, hopefully sometime after Asher's first birthday. But until then, the California family will have to get by with our "Pic of the Week" installments.
