Changes

A few changes have happened in the last week with Asher. After sharing our bed for the first 8 1/2 months of his life, Asher now has his own room. Asher has always slept in a co-sleeper next to my side of the bed. It's made it super easy when he woke up at night to eat or for reassurance. I could just roll over and grab him. But he's gotten too big for it. He would sometimes wake up and start his little engine revving on his hands and knees. I would wake up to see this and his co-sleeper would just rock back and forth. Luke and I were afraid it would collapse. So it was time for a crib. This was really exciting for his GGMa. She has wanted to buy him his first bed for a long time. Now we could finally ask her to do that. We ended up getting a really nice convertible crib. It will become a toddler bed when he's ready and then even further down the road, it will convert into a full size bed.

This is him sleeping in his new crib and a shot of the crib itself. I hung our wedding chuppah on the wall behind it. I think it looks pretty good there. We had to move our desk downstairs to make room for the crib. It's finally beginning to look like Asher's room rather than an office, Luke's closet, and a changing room. He's also sleeping very well by himself, only waking up once or twice a night. Luke and I love that part.

The other exciting change in Asher's life is his new found mobility. He's not crawling in the typical baby way but he soon will be. He's doing more of a drag where he will pull his legs behind him. He's also rolling over a lot better now. Click here to see a short video. I will only let you guess what the noise is at the end of the clip. I'm sure you can figure it out.

So this is the official "Pic of the Week":

We went to a great park on the Puget Sound called Carkeek Park and watched kids play on the playground and the windsurfers and sailboats out on the water. I'm assuming this was one of the last really beautiful days we'll have in Seattle.

With all that's gone on this last week, I can't wait to see what happens next week. Maybe he'll start really crawling...
