Asher had a busy week again! He turned 6 months old, had a visit from two different cousins, had a visit with the
naturopath for his 6 month check up, and he had a party. He even ate his first solid food. Whew, no wonder we're tired. So let's start at the beginning.

First, we had a visit from Luke's cousin Mira. She had a great time hanging out with Asher, making him smile and giving him a bath. This was the first time Mira has been in the U.S. for a long time. She'd also never met Asher before so she had a lot of time to make up. I don't think Luke or I spent much time with him while she was here. Both she and Asher had a great time getting to know one another.
Then we finally had a
chance
to hang out with Kate's cousin Corinne. Though we both live in Seattle, it's been two years since we saw one another. We can't let that happen again. It's a disgrace. Asher really liked her as well. We went to dinner and caught up with each other while Asher gurgled his way into her heart. He looks worried in the picture, but believe me he had a great time.
Next, he went to visit his naturopath for his 6 month baby wellness exam. He's always happy to see Christina. It's amazing the rapport she has with him. So here are his latest stats:
He's 26 inches long, he grew an inch and a half in two months. Unbelievable.
He now weighs 16 pounds, 4 ounces. He was 13 pounds 7 ounces two months ago. I knew he was getting heavier rather than me getting weaker. :)
He's a healthy happy baby of course.

After all this excitement, he got his first taste of something other than milk. His first food was pureed apple sauce homemade by Mom herself. As you can see in the picture, he wasn't quite sure what to think. But now, two days later, he's a champ. He's gotten about 98% of what we feed him in his stomach. Pretty impressive, huh? Next food? Beets. Yummy...
So you'd think after all this excitement, we'd want to just hang out and lay low for the weekend. But we decided to have some friends over instead. It was our Baby BBQ. And no, we didn't barbecue the babies.

Our good friends Dan &
Ady came over with Asher's bud Henry. And the newest addition to our circle of first time parents also came. One of Luke's co-workers has a 2 month old girl named Ainsley. So Todd and Kirsten came over with Ainsley. We all had a good time swapping baby stories and competing over who had the least amount of sleep. Ainsley, being a newborn mainly slept and ate the entire time while the two boys played together.

So that's our week. Pretty fun, with lots of things happening. Hope you enjoy the pictures!
